THE DANCE OF DRY AUTUMN LEAVES By Kevork K. Kalayjian, Jr. Clouds of marble In shades of sunlight Define the skies To my heart. Leaves of autumn flutter Dancing between the sidewalks In the vacant roads, Despite the red stop sign Near the corner of the street. My soul is also dancing Like the dry autumn leaves Full of hope, love and magic, In a jubilant crowd it appears, But it's a crazy, lonesome dance The dance of dry autumn leaves. -- Kevork Kalayjian is a decendent of refugees from the town of Kilis, in the Cilician region of Armenia. An accountant by profession, he likes to paint and write. His next project is to collect the names of 100 volunteer Armenian-American families who would like to resettle in Armenia and jump-start a new way of work and life there. Some of his poems have been published in Armenian media such as "Ararat" and at http://www.poetry.com/.
